Editorial standards
Sources
Every published claim is sourced to one of the following: STOCK Act disclosures filed with the Senate Office of Public Records or the House Clerk; roll-call vote records from the Office of the Clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives or the Secretary of the U.S. Senate; committee membership rosters from Senate.gov or House.gov; SEC filings via EDGAR; market data from Polymarket and Kalshi public APIs; and news coverage we cite by URL. We do not use anonymous human sources. We do not paraphrase claims we cannot link to.
Fact-checking
Every article passes through code-side validators that check days-late math against the database, verify ticker and politician identity against canonical records, ban accusatory verbs and AI-writing tells, and flag tenuous bill-ticker connections. A second AI editor pass reviews the headline, dek, and body for readability, factual support, and voice rules before publish. Articles flagged for factual issues are regenerated or suppressed.
Voice rules
Banned: "insider," "rigged," "knew," "tipped off," "bribed," any verb that implies a crime not in evidence. Allowed: "raises eyebrows," "the timing is the thing," observational framings on the public record.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we correct it publicly on the corrections page and update the article inline with a dated note. Email support@blindtrust.io with corrections.
AI disclosure
Beltway Alpha articles are drafted with AI tooling against a fixed voice guide and verified against Blind Trust's database before publish. The byline "Beltway Alpha" is the brand pseudonym for this AI-assisted, editorially-reviewed pipeline.
